Samuel S. Gibson,
M.D.
Dr. Gibson joined the Digestive Health Clinic in
1990. He is originally from South Dakota where he
attended the University of South Dakota for both
undergraduate training and medical school. He also
completed one year of biochemistry research prior
to medical school. His postgraduate training was
obtained at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix,
Arizona. This included three years of internal medicine
residency and a two year fellowship in gastroenterology.
In addition to his formal training, he worked two
years as a staff physician in a trauma-emergency
center. Dr. Gibson is board-certified in internal
medicine and gastroenterology and a member of the
American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Gibson is married and the father of four girls.
He enjoys biking, skiing, and golfing. He is active
in hospital committee work and community service. |

Ike D. Tanabe, M.D.
Dr. Tanabe joined the Digestive Health Clinic in
1994. He was born in Seattle, Washington, and raised
in Okinawa, Japan. He received his undergraduate
education at the University of Washington, graduating
with a degree in business administration. After
working in business for three years, he decided
to become a physician and completed his premedical
education and graduated from the University of Washington-School
of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine
residency at the University of Washington and is
board-certified in internal medicine. His postdoctoral
training in gastroenterology was completed at the
University of South Florida. Dr. Tanabe is board-certified
in gastroenterology and a member of the American
College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological
Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal
Endoscopy.
Dr. Tanabe is a father of two daughters and enjoys
golfing, cooking, kayaking, dirt biking, mountain
biking, and traveling. He is active in hospital
committee work and community service. |

Nic R. Cordum, M.D.
Dr. Cordum joined the Digestive Health Clinic in
1996. He received his undergraduate education
and medical school training at the University
of Oklahoma, graduating with honors. His internal
medicine residency was completed at the University
of Minnesota, where he served as chief resident
at the V.A. Medical Center. His gastroenterology
training was at the University of Kansas. He
is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
He is a member of the American Gastroenterological
Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal
Endoscopy.
Dr. Cordum is the father of three children. His
interests include hunting, fishing, snowmobiling,
and enjoying the outdoors. |

Robb F. Gibson, M.D.
Dr. Gibson joined the Digestive Health Clinic in
1999 after nine years of private practice in his
home state of South Dakota. He attended the University
of South Dakota for undergraduate training and medical
school. He completed his residency and fellowship
at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Dr.
Gibson is board-certified in internal medicine and
gastroenterology. He is a member of the American
Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American
College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Gibson is married and has four children. Leisure
time activities include golf and skiing. |

Stephen M. Schutz, M.D.
Dr. Schutz joined The Digestive Health Clinic in
2001 after 13 years in the Air
Force. A native of New York, Dr. Schutz has lived
in various places during his time in the military,
including Ohio, North Carolina, Texas, and California.
He graduated from Albany Medical College in 1988
before completing his internal medicine residency
at Wright Patterson Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Schutz completed his gastroenterology fellowship
at Duke University Medical Center, where he obtained
training in advanced endoscopic therapy of the bile
duct and pancreas. Dr. Schutz has published extensively
in the GI Literature, and is board-certified in
gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American
College of Gastroenterology as well as a member
of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
and American Gastroenterological Association. He
has a major interest in medical quality and patient
satisfaction, serving on a national committee studying
endoscopic outcomes.
In his free time, Dr. Schutz enjoys spending time
with his wife and their three boys. He also runs,
skis, and writes a magazine column about automobiles. |

Mark A. Mallory, M.D.
Dr. Mallory was born and raised in Denver, Colorado,
and joined The Digestive Health Clinic in 2003.
He received his undergraduate education at Amherst
College, graduating with a degree in English literature.
He then completed medical school at Duke University
School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, and
his internship and residency at the University of
Washington-School of Medicine in Seattle. Dr. Mallory
completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the
University of Washington-School of Medicine, where
he obtained training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy.
He is board-certified in both internal medicine
and gastroenterology. Dr. Mallory has published
extensively in the gastroenterology literature,
and is the current director of endoscopy at Saint
Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. He is a member
of the American College of Gastroenterology, the
American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy,
and the American Gastroenterological Association.
Dr. Mallory and his wife, a family practice physician,
have one daughter. In his leisure time, he enjoys
piano performance, golf, and tennis. |

Christopher J. Goulet, M.D.
Dr. Goulet joined The Digestive Health Clinic in
2005. He grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and attended
the University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate.
After graduating from the University of Texas-Southwestern
Medical School at Dallas in 1999, he completed an
internal medicine residency and gastroenterology
fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake
City. Dr. Goulet is board-certified in internal
medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of
the American College of Gastroenterology, the American
Gastroenterological Association, and the American
Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Goulet and his wife have two daughters. As a
family, they enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, and the
outdoors. |

Tracy M. Young, F.N.P.
Tracy Young joined The Digestive Health Clinic in
2005 after several years in family practice. She
received her Master of Science in nursing at Gonzaga
University in Spokane, Washington. She completed
her Bachelor of Science in nursing through Boise
State University. She has certification from the
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the
American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Tracy is married with two adult sons, both musicians.
She and her husband enjoy skiing, running, and snowmobiling. |
